Current Progress on Relocating from New York to Oregon
Been a while since I last updated you with the ongoing relocation progress. After a few setbacks, we got our 5x8 trailer back on the road, registered, inspected and some electrical wiring repairs. The next step was to clear out a house worth of storage items sitting for almost a decade at Howes Cave, NY going on for two weeks but it's coming to an end this week.
In-between the clearing and packing we managed a two day weekend garage sale which went fairly well. We priced items well below the "cheap" but most people wanted them even cheaper. We allowed the items to go, at whatever price, rather than throw them away in waste. Among the items was the entire living room furnishing including carpeting and about more than half of the furniture in the rest of the house.
All this in attempt to minimize the cost of hiring a moving truck because let me tell you they are expensive especially from the east coast to the west.
So we're all set with the moving truck reservation as well as the new apartment in Beaverton, Oregon reserved.
We're scheduled to leave New York, forever, on July 7th.
